Reality check

While chasing Jackson around the house all week, there are more than a few times when I long for a few days off. Granted, my husband is outstanding at taking the primary parental reins during the evenings and weekends, but I still often wondered what it would be like to have a day or two completely to myself. With nothing to do but sleep in, eat waffles, and do whatever else appealed to me at the time.

Well, now I know—- and it sucks. Sure, I enjoy my alone time. And thankfully, Hugh enjoys his so after we spend time together each night, we happily part company and do our own thing. But not having my husband and son around at all is awful. I miss Jacky’s pink, chubby cheeks and constant giggles. And without Hugh, there’s no one around to laugh at my stupid jokes!
