Spawn of Griffith | Dear Jack - Dad's turn IV

Dear Jack - Dad's turn IV

This was truly an exciting week for the Griffith family, son. The ultrasound has confirmed that you are going to have a baby brother to play with soon! And though I honestly didn’t have a preference on the gender of your soon-to-be sibling, I have to admit I’m excited about the news. All the things I imagined doing with you, like fly fishing, go-cart racing, and camping, I can do with your brother as well!

People say that having boys so close in age can be a bad thing because they’ll be so competitive with one another. I hope that is not the case with you two. I would imagine the odds are lower because we live so far out in the boonies; your brother will be the only one you’ll have to play with most of the time!

Watching you grow over the last couple months has been a real blessing. It’s amazing to see how you are developing your own personality already, and how wonderful a kid you’re turning out to be. Your mother and I are always commenting on how incredibly happy and carefree you are. We must be doing a great job parenting to have such a content son!

I especially cherish the little things that are unique in our relationship. Like how you’ll only sit and watch TV for any length of time with me. Or the way you look up at me when you’re sitting on my lap and I’m reading to you. And how I can almost always get a laugh out of you no matter how grumpy you are. (You especially love it when we play peek-a-boo.)

Every day with you is truly a gift from God. I can’t wait until tomorrow!
